Gorillas Select Six Captains for 2015 SeasonPitt State captains, who were selected earlier this week following a vote of the squad, will draft the "Red" and "White" teams for Saturday's action Thursday morning.
Â
Head coach Tim Beck announced six captains as a result of the team vote, all first-time selections: junior linebacker Spencer Brown, senior wide receiver Marquise Cushon, senior wide receiver Austin Daniel, senior defensive end Montrae Strickland, junior tight end Kyle Swartz and junior defensive end Heath Wilson.
"Every year, this is one of the most significant accomplishments of the spring – the selection of team captains," PSU head coach Tim Beck said. "The players still vote on it. Our formula allows for four to seven captains and it just some happened the results called for six captains again this year.
"Obviously this is a tribute to these individuals. We have a solid mix of offensive and defensive players, a good mix of seniors and underclassmen. We think this is a good group of team leaders to represent our football team."
