Graduate Assistant
Jerise Freeman enters her first season
as a graduate assistant for the Gorilla Women's Basketball program.
Freeman joins the Pitt State program after completing her collegiate eligbility at University of Pacific last year. The Wichita, Kan., native was a two-year letterwinner for the Tigers, after playing her first two seasons at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kan.
Freeman formerly played for Coach Lord when
he was head girls' basketball coach at Wichita Heights High School, helping
the Falcons to back-to-back Kansas Class 6A state titles and a 45-5 combined
record her final two seasons.
As Pitt State's graduate assistant coach,
Freeman's duties include coordinating opponent scouting, monitoring academic
progress and in-practice statistics, in addition to preseason conditioning
and floor coaching duties.
Freeman earned a bachelor's degree in in
sociology with an emphasis in criminal justice from Pacific last May.
She is currently pursuing a master's degree in physical education at Pitt
State.
