Assistant Coach
Amanda Davied is in her fourth season as
the assistant women's basketball coach at Pittsburg State University after
being hired to join the Pitt State staff full-time on July 20, 2004.
Davied served as a graduate assistant coach
for the Gorilla Women's Basketball program during the 2003-04 season.
Davied, a standout player for the Gorillas,
was a four-year letterwinner from 2000-03. She was a three-time All-MIAA
performer, earning honorable mention honors as a sophomore, second-team
All-MIAA recognition as a junior and first-team All-MIAA accolades during
her senior season. She completed her outstanding career as the Gorillas'
all-time assist leader (553). She also finished ninth on PSU's all-time
scoring chart (1,229).
Additionally, she was a three-time member
of the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA All-Academic
Team. Davied also earned third-team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors
her senior season.
The Farlington, Kan., native plays an integral
role in all aspects of the basketball program as PSU's top assistant,
with an emphasis on recruiting, scouting, scheduling, practice and game
floor coaching, academic support and preseason conditioning supervision.
Davied earned a bachelor's degree in physical
education from Pittsburg State in December 2003. She is currently completing
a master's degree in physical education from PSU.
