Jackson Garners National Runner-up Finish in 60m
Hurdles

Minn. -- Pittsburg State University sophomore
Jeremy Jackson claimed the national runner-up finish in the 60 meter hurdles
Saturday (Mar. 15) at the 2008 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.
The Burton, Texas, native was clocked in 7.873 seconds.
Terry Liggins of South Dakota garnered the national title in the discipline
with a winning time of 7.84. Jackson edged Jarret Eaton of West Chester
University (7.877) by four one-thousandths of a second.
Jackson turned in the fastest time in prelims on Friday
with a 7.93 timing. Pitt State senior Jeremy Dunkle finished ninth in
prelims (8.12), narrowly missing the opportunity to earn All-America honors.
Pitt State freshman Kiara Jones also flirted with All-America
contention Saturday, placing ninth in the triple jump (47-3.75).
On the women’s side, Pitt State senior Kiley
Lund earned All-America honors Saturday as well. The Hutchinson, Kan.,
native finished in a tie for eighth place in the high jump with a clearance
of 5-feet, 5 inches.
Sophomore Emily Middleton, from Iola, Kan., also placed
in a tie for 11th place in the discipline (5-5).
