Lenexa Native Erbert Signs With Pitt State
PITTSBURG
-- Pittsburg State University head softball coach Brad Horky announced
today (Dec. 1) the recent signing of Hilary Erbert to a national letter
of intent to join the Gorillas for the 2009 season.
Erbert, a 5-foot-10 pitcher, will have freshman eligibility
for Pitt State. She's currently a senior at Shawnee Mission West High
School.
The Lenexa, Kan., native posted a 7-1 record with a
1.73 ERA as a junior in 2007, helping the Vikings to an 18-5 record and
a Kansas Class 6A state tournament berth. She garnered honorable mention
All-Sunflower League and All-Sun Country honors.
“We’re very excited to sign Hilary,”
Horky said. “She is a pitcher that will steph in and help day one.
Hilary is tall and strong, and she'll only get better in the coming year.”
Erbert is the first player to sign with Pitt State
for the 2009 season. The Gorillas will open their 2008 campaign on Feb.
16.
