Gorillas Sweep Tigers, 7-3 & 5-3, Tuesday

    HAYS, Kan. -- Pittsburg State University swept an MIAA doubleheader from Fort Hays State University Tuesday (Apr. 22) at Hays, Kan. The Gorillas claimed 7-3 and 5-3 wins over the Tigers.
    Stephanie Moore (8-14) claimed wins in both contests – in relief in game one and as the starter in game two.
    Offensively, Tera Swartslander went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in game one, while Swartslander and Lindsay Birchfield each went 3-for-4 at the plate in game two.
    The Gorillas are now 21-24 overall and 9-6 in the MIAA. PSU will host Southwest Baptist in a 3 p.m. make-up game Friday (Apr. 25) and then complete their MIAA schedule with a Noon twinbill Saturday (Apr. 26) against 22nd-ranked Emporia State.
