Gorillas Roll to 73-53 Win Over Mid-America Christian
JOPLIN, Mo. -- Guards Carlos Taylor and Spencer Magana combined for 34 points to lead the Pittsburg State University basketball team to a 73-53 victory over Mid-America Christian University Saturday (Nov. 22) in day two action of the Missouri Southern State University Chris Tucker Memorial Classic at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Taylor came off the bench to score a team-high 18 points on six of nine shootings, including five 3-pointers, while Magana added 16 points in the contest.
The Gorillas (2-0), who led just 31-24 at halftime held MANU (0-7) to 31.0 percent shooting in the contest. Pitt State also converted 21 of 26 free throws in the contest and the Gorillas knocked in 10 3-point field goals.
Brandon Williams led all scorers with 19 points for MANU.
