Gorilla logo     PITTSBURG -- Pittsburg State University basketball coach Gene Iba announced Friday (Oct. 19) that senior forwards Michael Hutchingson and Nathan Lang and senior guard Keith Windom have been selected by team vote as captains for the 2007-08 season.
Hutchingson, a Kansas City, Kan., native, started 16 games as a junior last year, averaging 4.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Lang, from Muskogee, Okla., averaged 2.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game during his junior campaign, while Windom, a Wichita, Kan., native, made 11 starts and averaged 7.7 points and dished out a team-leading 77 assists last year.
“All three of these players have been leaders of our team in the past and now they officially have earned leadership roles by a vote of their teammates,” Iba said. “It’s an honor and a responsibility for each of them to take on, and I think they’re each deserving of this recognition.”

Pitt State, which tipped off preseason camp Monday (Oct. 15), opens its 2007-08 campaign with three exhibition games against NCAA Division I competition, featuring games against Kansas (Nov. 1), Wichita State (Nov. 8) and Kansas State (Nov. 11). The Gorillas begin regular season play by hosting the Pepsi/Comfort Inn Classic on Nov. 16-17.
