Abercrombie Named South Central Region Co-MVP
Piedmont, S.C., Native Advances to National Ballot for All-America Consideration

gorilla logo    Stephenville, Texas -- Pittsburg State University senior center Cory Abercrombie was named the Daktronics co-Most Valuable Player of the South Central Region of NCAA Division II today (Mar. 12).
    Abercrombie (6-7, 243), also the MVP of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, now advances to the national ballot for NCAA-II All-America consideration.
    The Piedmont, S.C., native finished the season averaging 17.3 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, helping the Gorillas to an 18-10 overall record. He was one of only two players in the South Central Region to average a double-double for the season.
    Abercrombie shared the regional MVP honor with Texas A&M-Commerce guard Scooby Johnson.
