PSU Golfers Fourth After Day One at H.O.A. Classic
WARRENSBURG,
Mo. -- Sophomore Keith Capps finished in a tie for fourth place to lead
the Pittsburg State University golf team to a fourth-place showing after
day one action of the University of Central Missouri Heart of America
Classic at Keth Memorial Golf Course Monday (Mar. 24).
Capps, an Olathe native, fired an even par 71 in the
18-hole competition, finishing the round just strokes off individual leader
John Robbins of Washburn University.
As a team, the Gorillas carded a 304 score, finishing
12 strokes behind day one leader Washburn (288). The host school, Central
Missouri, shot a 289 team score, while Missouri Southern State University
was third with a 300.
Sophomore Kyle Capps finished the round tied for 14th
with a 75.
The Gorillas will conclude the two-day tournament with
second-round action Tuesday (Mar. 25).
