Farabi Shares MIAA Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Park, Kan. -- Pittsburg State University tailback Caleb Farabi garnered
Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association co-Offensive Player
of the Week honors Monday (Sept. 14).
Farabi, a 5-foot-7, 178-pound junior from Pittsburg,
Kan., rushed for a game-high 179 yards and two touchdowns to help the
No. 6 Gorillas to a 31-28
victory Saturday (Sept. 15) over Missouri Southern State University in
the U.S. Cellular Miner’s Bowl X at Joplin, Mo.
Farabi carried the ball 26 times for a career-best
179 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown run that provided the deciding
points with 6:44 to play in the game. He also caught four passes for a
team-leading 43 yards, accumulating a career-high 222 all-purpose yards.
Farabi, who also earned MIAA Offensive Player
of the Week honors for his efforts against East Central University on
Sept. 1, is a graduate of St. Mary’s-Colgan High School.
He shared the weekly honors with MSSU running
back Alley Broussard, who rushed 24 times for 172 yards and four TDs in
the losing effort against the Gorillas.
