Gorillas Sweep Ichabods, 7-0 & 7-1 Saturday
TOPEKA,
Kan. -- Junior righthander Tim Brown tossed a complete-game five hitter
in a 7-0 win in game
one and Pittsburg State University jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead en route
to a 7-1 victory in the
nightcap against Washburn University Saturday (Apr. 5) at Fally Field.
Brown (2-4) registered his second shutout of the season,
helping Pitt State (13-16, 8-9 MIAA)
snap a seven-game losing streak at Washburn’s (9-15, 6-11 MIAA)
expense.
Nick Giuliani went 5-for-7 with three RBIs in the twinbill
for the Gorillas.
The two teams will complete their four-game MIAA series
with a single game beginning at Noon Sunday (Apr. 6).
