The Miner’s Bowl Series
While PSU and MSSU have played every year since 1968 -- MSSU’s first year as a four-year school -- the two teams began competing for the coveted Miner’s Bowl Trophy in 1986.

While the series has produced its share of close games and memorable moments, the Gorillas have dominated the series, winning 20 of the 21 meetings including the last 13 battles.

All told, PSU has averaged a 41-12 victory in the 21 meetings, winning by an average score of 37-10 in Pittsburg and 39-15 at Joplin.

U.S. Cellular Corporate Involvement
The 2007 season marks the 10th year of U.S. Cellular’s corporate involvement with the border rivalry. Both Pittsburg State University and Missouri Southern State University appreciate U.S. Cellular’s commitment to the Miner’s Bowl!
