CHRISSY ELDER
Setter • 2003
Elder, a Kansas City, Mo., native, earned honorable mention AVCA All-America honors in her only season at Pittsburg State in 2003. The transfer from the University of Missouri set the PSU single-season assist record, dishing out 1,574 assists her senior season. She was the only setter in the MIAA to rank in the top 10 in the conference in total blocks, averaging 1.02 per game. She earned first-team All-MIAA honors, twice was named MIAA Specialist of the Week and also earned AVCA All-South Central Region honors.
GLORIA ILARIOGUN
Middle Blocker • 2003
Ilariogun, a Dallas, Texas, native, earned honorable mention AVCA All-America honors as a senior in 2003. Ilariogun finished her career as the school's career record holder for total blocks (598) and block solos (180), ranking third all-time in MIAA history in total blocks. In 2003, she set PSU single-season records for total blocks (207) and block solos (54). She also ranks second all-time in career kills (1,331) and career hitting percentage (.298). Ilariogun was a four-time All-MIAA performer and twice earned All-South Central Region accolades during her career.
DINA WATHAN
Outside Hitter • 2003
Wathan, a Blue Springs, Mo., native, earned third-team AVCA All-America honors as a senior in 2003. Wathan finished her decorated four-year career by establishing eight PSU school records, including: career games played (468), career kills (1,814), career attacks (5,477), career service aces (158) and career digs (2,326). She also set single-season records for kills (481), attacks (1,481) and digs (671). Wathan finished her career ranked second all-time in Division II history in digs. She earned All-MIAA all four years, including first-team All-MIAA honors her final two seasons. Wathan also earned All-South Central Region honors each of her final three seasons.
LIZZY ANYIGOR-ABITOGUN
Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker • 2004
Anyigor-Abitogun, a native of Delta, Nigeria, earned third-team All-America honors from both the AVCA and Daktronics as a senior in 2004. Anyigor-Abitogun became the first player in school history to be named the MIAA Most Valuable Player, after earning first-team All-MIAA honors. She finished her decorated career with 1,337 kills - the second-highest total in school history. Anyigor-Abitogun also set PSU season records for kills (716) and attacks (1679) and she established a new single-match record with 34 kills against Drury (9/9/04). She twice earned All-MIAA honors (2001, '04).
SAMMIE WILLIAMS
Rightside/Opposite Hitter • 2007 & 2008
Williams, a Blue Springs, Mo. native, earned honorable mention AVCA All-America honors as a junior in 2007 and third-team honors in 2008, making her one of the first two players in program history to twice earn All-America honors. Led the team in kill (470), kills per game (3.95) and points per game (4.43) in 2007. Williams finished her career are the Pittsburg State career kills leader with 1,825 kills. She also finished second for attacks and sets played and ranked in the top 10 for hitting percentage, digs and blocks. She was only the fourth player in school hisyort to record more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career. She earned All-MIAA honors each of her four seasons, including being named Freshman of the Year in 2005.
LINDA IGBINIGIE
Middle Blocker • 2008
Igbinigie, a native of Richardson, Texas, earned first-team All-America honors in 2008. She was the first- first-team All-American in program history. Igbinigie, who made drastic improvements from her first season at Pitt State, finished her career as the all-time blocks leader with 600 career total blocks. In 2008, she registered the best single season attack percentage in school history, as she led the Gorillas with a .368 (353-81-739) clip. She finished the season with 147 total blocks, ranking as the fifth best single season total in school history, as she averaged 1.16 blocks per set. She finished her career ranked sixth for career kills (1,150), ninth for attacks (2,540) and second in hitting percentage (.321) and solo blocks (162). She earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors in 2007 and second-team honors in 2008.
PAMELA CARTAGENA
Outside Hitter • 2007-2009
Cartagena, a Bayamon, Puerto Rico native, earned second team AVCA All-America honors in 2007, third-team in 2008, and first team in 2009, making her the only three-time All-American in school history. She also earned Daktronics All-America honors in 2009. She set the record for career kills with 1,836. She also ranked second on the career list for attacks and digs, eighth for hitting percentage and fifth in service aces. Cartagena also earned All-MIAA honors every season, including being named MIAA Player of the Year in 2009.
Corrinne Stringer
Outside Hitter • 2009
Stringer became the eighth player in school history to earn AVCA All-America honors in 2009. In her first season with the Gorillas, she averaged 3.32 kills per set, second only behind Caragena. She was third on the team with 65 total blocks, including a team-leading 19 solo blocks. Her 441 kills on the season ranks as eighth best single season total in school history. The Topeka, Kan. native also earned AVCA All-South Cenral Region, NCAA-II South Central Regional All-Tournament team and second team All-MIAA honors.
