Community Welcomes New AD Jim Johnson to Campus

The role of Intercollegiate Athletics, according to Jim Johnson, Pittsburg State University's new athletics director, is to recruit, develop and graduate outstanding student athletes and "along the way, win conference championships." PSU President Steve Scott introduced Johnson to the campus and community at a news conference and reception held today in the Wilkinson Alumni Center.

Pitt State Names Johnson Athletics Director

Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott announced today (July 29) the selection of Jim Johnson as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. Johnson was selected following a national search and will begin his duties on Sept. 7, 2010.

PSU Announces Finalists for Athletics Director Position

Three finalists have been selected for the position of Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Pittsburg State University. The candidates are James R. Johnson, commissioner of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association; Kenneth R. Oliver, director of athletics at Texas A&M-Kingsville; and Christopher C. Hmielewski, director of athletics at Southwest Minnesota State.
