Due to poor weather conditions in the Pittsburg area, the PSU Softball Invitaitonal has been cancelled. The Gorillas will still play a game on Saturday however.
The Pitt State softball team improved its record to 8-6-1 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Bemidji State on Thursday (March 11) afternoon at the PSU Softball Complex. Pitt State won the first game 4-1, then came from a three-run deficit in the second game to win 6-3.
The Pittsburg State and Missouri Southern Softball teams ended the first game of their midweek doubleheader in a 7-7 tie after blowing rain drenched the field at the PSU Softball Complex on Tuesday (March 9) evening. The second game was canceled.
The Pitt State softball team will play host to MIAA rival Missouri Southern in a non-conference twinbill Tuesday (Mar. 9) at the PSU Softball Complex. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. (CST).
The Pittsburg State softball team (6-6) split games in the second day of the Teri Zenner Memorial Classic in Joplin on Sunday (March 7) afternoon. The team defeated Northeastern State 12-0 in five innings in the first game, but fell 4-0 to Emporia State in the night cap.
