Enters her fourth season in the PSU program ... a talented athlete who has continued to improve with experience... a hard worker who figures to play a significant role for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2009: Competed in five of six meets... posted her best 6K time of the season 23:09 at the MIAA Championships finishing 6th on the team and 18th overall helping the Gorillas to a third place conference finish... earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors... also placed 31st overall the NCAA-II South Central Regional.

In 2008: Competed in six meets for the Gorillas, scoring in two...a part of the MIAA runner-up team...helped the Gorillas to a 18th place finish at the NCAA-II National Championship.

In 2007: Competed in all six meets for the Gorillas ... a part of the MIAA runner-up team ... ran a season-best 5K time of 19:25 in the Southern Stampede ... finished the South Central Regional 6K in 23:28 for a career-best time.

On the Track: Competed in the 800m and the 1,500m for the Gorillas... placed ninth in the mile at the indoor conference championships in the mile.

Personal: Born September 14, 1988 ... daughter of Bob and Sherys Mellen... also a member of the MIAA All-Academic Team and the MIAA Academic Honor Roll... has a 3.97 GPA as a physical education major.
