The Pitt State women's basketball team shot only 14 percent from three point range and only 35 percent overall, leading to a 75-71 loss to Northwest Missouri in the MIAA Tournament.
As March Madness opens up all over the country, the Gorillas make a return trip to the MIAA Tournament as the league’s No. 4 seed. The Gorillas will face fifth-seeded Northwest Missouri in Thursday’s second game at 2:15 p.m.
Pitt State senior DePrice Taylor garnered first-team All-MIAA honors, while teammates Nicole McCombs and Maya Onikute were named to the honorable mention squad Tuesday (Mar. 2).
Seniors Nicole McCombs and DePrice Taylor combined for 45 points to lead Pitt State to an 87-64 win over Nebraska-Omaha Saturday (Feb. 27) at John Lance Arena.
After trailing by eight at the half, the Pittsburg State women's basketball team (13-13, 11-8 MIAA) put together a strong second half to earn a 78-74 win over Fort Hays State in the Gorillas final regular season road game of the season.
