John Johnson
Strength/Conditioning Coach
John Johnson enters his 28th year as Pittsburg State’s strength and conditioning coach. He also is the director of the PSU Fitness Center.
Johnson is primarily responsible for designing and implementing a complete weight training and dietary program for each PSU student-athlete.
A 1981 PSU graduate, Johnson is an AAU and Master Weightlifter. He also is the inventor of “Powerstep,” an exercise device used by 30 professional sports franchises – including the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball and the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League – 42 NCAA Division I institutions, as well as several professional sports franchises and individual National Hockey League stars.
Johnson is single and lives in Pittsburg.
