Heidi Johnson

Media Relations & Promotions Director

Heidi Johnson begins her fourth year as a member of the Pittsburg State University Athletics staff.

She enters her first year as Media Relations and Promotions Director after serving the previous three years as a Media Relations Assistant.

Johnson, a native of Lamar, Mo., came to Pittsburg State from the University of Florida, where she served as an assistant sports information director for seven years. Johnson served as the primary media contact for men's and women's cross country and women's softball at Florida.

Johnson serves as the primary media contact for PSU volleyball, women's basketball and softball. Additionally, she is involved in the day-to-day publicity and promotions efforts in the media relations and marketing office for each of PSU's 13 intercollegiate sports programs.  She also serves as co-liason to Pitt State's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 2000. She worked in the Mizzou sports information office for four years, before serving as a sports information assistant for the University of Minnesota men's athletic media relations office from 2000-01.

She is single and lives in Lamar, Mo.
