Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Amanda DaviedAmanda Davied is in her sixth season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Pittsburg State University.
 
Davied began her coaching career as a graduate assistant for the Gorilla Women’s Basketball program in the 2003-04 season. She was hired as a full-time assistant in July 2004 and remained to serve as the top assistant on Lane Lord’s staff when Lord took over the program in 2007.

Davied, a standout player for the Gorillas, earned All-MIAA honors three times in her career. She earned honorable mention honors as a sophomore, second team as a junior and was named first-team All-MIAA in her final season. She completed her outstanding career as Pitt State’s all-time assists leader with 553 assists. She also finished ninth on the all-time scoring chart, scoring 1,229 points in her four years as a Gorilla letterwinner.
She also excelled in the classroom, earning third-team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors her senior season. She was a three-time member of the Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and the All-MIAA Academic team.

Davied, originally from Farlington, Kan., plays an integral role in all aspects of the Gorilla Women’s Basketball program. As PSU’s top assistant she helps to oversee recruiting, scouting, practice and game floor coaching, academic support and preseason conditioning.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Pittsburg State in December 2003. She finished her master’s degree in physical education in December 2008.
