Phil Carr

Head Athletic Trainer

Phil Carr is in his 15th year as Pittsburg State University's head athletic trainer.

Prior to joining the PSU staff, Carr was head athletic trainer at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan., for 10 years.

He received his bachelor's degree in 1983 from Southwestern, before earning a master's degree from Pittsburg State in 1984. He served as a graduate assistant for PSU Hall of Fame trainer Al Ortolani for two years (1983-84).

Carr, a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, has served on the training staff at the NAIA National Track & Field Championships six times. He also served on the U.S. Athletic Training staff at the 1990 Pan American Games.

Phil and his wife, Sonja, have a son, Cameron, 21, and a daughter, Colby, 19. The Carrs reside in Pittsburg.
