General: Third-year player... a talented athlete who is primed for a big junior season... a big-play threat for the Gorillas... missed spring drills with a knee injury... expected to see significant action if healthy this fall.

In 2009: Saw action in all 11 games, including five starts...caught 11 passes for 263 yards (23.9 ypc) and three touchdowns on the season... caught three passes for a career-best 142 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long 63-yard touchdown grab, in the season-opening win vs. No. 16 Central Oklahoma (Aug. 29) ... also had 72 yards and a score against No. 18 Mo. Western (Sept. 26).

In 2008: Saw action in 10 games in a reserve role and on PSU's special teams units ... on special teams, recorded two assisted tackles.

In Track & Field: Competes in the hurdle disciplines for the Gorillas ... placed sixth in the 110m hurdles at the 2009 MIAA Outdoor Championships.

In High School: A second-team All-Sunflower League performer as a senior at Shawnee Mission North High School in 2007 ... a two-time All-League selection for the Indians (2006-07) ... also a standout basketball and track & field athlete.

Personal: Born July 6, 1990 ... son of Darrell Sawyer and Louise Sawyer ... a management major.
