In High School: A first-team Kansas Class 5A All-State selection as a linebacker as a senior at Salina Central High School in 2008... also a first-team All-League performer at both fullback and linebacker his senior season... recorded 88 tackles (53 solo) with four INTs, including two he returned for TDs... a four-year starter at fullback/tailback for the Mustangs... helped Central to the 5A state title in 2005 and a state semifinal appearance in 2007 .

Personal: Born November 19, 1990... son of Curtis and Brenda Counts... a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll... has a 3.10 GPA as a physical education major.
