The Pitt State football team will make its home debut Saturday (Sept. 4) when the Gorillas host Chadron State College. Kickoff is set for 12 Noon (CDT) at Brandenburg Field/Carnie Smith Stadium.
Pittsburg State junior Jon Thomas was named the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Kickoff times for Pitt State’s Sept. 25 football game against Missouri Western and the Gorillas’ Oct. 16 Homecoming game against Washburn have been altered slightly to accomodate live television broadcasts on the new MIAA Broadcasting Network. Pitt State’s Homecoming game, originally scheduled for 2 p.m. (CDT), will now kickoff at 2:20 p.m. on Oct. 16 at Brandenburg Field/Carnie Smith Stadium.
Quarterback Zac Dickey tossed a third-quarter touchdown and broke loose for a 47-yard go-ahead touchdown run with 8:52 to play in the game to lead Pittsburg State University to a 31-20 victory over the University of Central Oklahoma in the season opener at Wantland Stadium.
The MIAA announced Wednesday (Aug. 25) the launch of the MIAA Broadcasting Network that will feature 20 televised football and basketball conference games in 2010-11, including a pair of Pitt State football games this fall.
The Pitt State football team travel to Edmond, Okla., Saturday (Aug. 28) to face Central Oklahoma in the season opener for both schools. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (CDT) at UCO’s Wantland Stadium. Pitt State will usher in the Tim Beck coaching era Saturday.
The Pittsburg State University football team hosted its annual Autograph Day activities Saturday (Aug. 14) at Pittsburg’s Meadowbrook Mall.
The Tim Beck Radio Show will debut Monday, August 23, with the hour-long program being recorded live starting at 6:05 p.m. (CDT) in the University Club in the Jack Overman Student Center on the Pittsburg State University campus.
The Pittsburg State University football team will report to campus for the start of preseason camp Friday (Aug. 6). Newcomers will report Friday morning, Aug. 6, with the veterans returning to campus Friday evening. The Gorillas’ first practice will take place Saturday, Aug. 7, at 8 p.m. at Carnie Smith Stadium.
