Garrett College's Gunn Commits to PSU Basketball
PITTSBURG -- Pittsburg State University head basketball coach Gene Iba announced today (July 10) that Francis "Mo" Gunn, from Garrett (Md.) College, has committed to join the Gorillas for the 2009-10 season.
Gunn, a 6-feet-4 inch, 195-pound wing player, earned first-team All-Conference and first-team All-Region honors as a sophomore this past winter, averaging 15.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Lakers. He helped Garrett post a 20-10 record, including a berth in a regional championship game.
Gunn, a native of Seat Pleasant, Md., played his freshman season at NCAA Division II Philadelphia University in 2006. He averaged 17 points and five rebounds a game as a senior at C.H. Flowers High School in Springdale, Md.
"Francis is a very athletic small forward who should give us some additional offensive punch from the perimeter," Iba said. "He comes here having played Division II basketball previously and he's anxious to be a part of our program."
Gunn is the seventh player to commit to Pitt State for the 2009-10 season.
