CAMP SESSIONS

  • Grades: 9 - 12
  • 8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Registration / 4:00 p.m. pick-up
  • Two Sessions Daily: 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. / 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

CAMP PHILOSOPHY
This camp is a football instructional camp designed to teach technique and the detailed points of offensive line and defensive line play. The one day half-pad (Helmets & Shoulder Pads) camp, will provide fundamental football skills in all aspects of line play, run and pass blocking, run recognition, and pass rush. Along with practice sessions, there will be one on one blocking drills, unit competition, and film instruction.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

  • Helmet, shoulder pads with jersey, mouthpiece, shorts and cleated shoes
  • Sack lunch or money for a fast food restaurant

  • $50 Pre-regristered

CAMP INSTRUCTION
The campers will have four, 1 hr. and 15 min. practices throughout the day. Campers will be split up by their grade level/ play level (Varsity - Sr. / Jr., Junior Varsity - Soph. / Fresh.). There will be two a.m. practice sessions and two p.m. practice sessions providing 1 hour of individual/technique periods and 15 minutes of competition time. The a.m. practice sessions will focus on the offensive and defensive facets of run blocking/run recognition. The p.m. practice sessions focus on the offensive and defensive facets of pass blocking/pass rush.

POSITION SKILLS

  • Offensive Line Drills - The offensive line run drills will consist of base blocks, reach blocks, zone and zone combos blocks, down and pull blocks. Proper aim points and fits along with footwork will be emphasized. Pass protection drills will consist of hand placement and footwork, kick and slide sets, and power and jam sets. Gap protection and man protection schemes will also be emphasized.
  • Defensive Line Drills - The defensive line run drills will teach stance and ball get off, hand placement, blocking recognition, and how to get off blocks. Pass rush drills will consist of stance, hands and footwork, rushing the proper path, working half the man, and bull rush.
