Wayne Premo Allai has played a leadership role in Pittsburg State's athletic fund-raising efforts since 1957. Allai established PSU's Endowment for Excellence in Athletics program in 1987, a program which continues to generate much-needed funding for athletic scholarships. He was the first meritorious inductee into the Hall of Fame who was not a former PSU coach.

Henry Earl Granger (1966-68)

Henry Earl Granger was the 1968 NAIA National Champion in the triple jump. Granger won the national title with a 49-foot, one-inch jump at Albuquerque, N.M. He set the PSU record in the event with a 49-9 1/2 foot jump earlier in the 1968 season. The three-year standout also was a member of the Gorilla basketball team. Granger participated in the U.S. Olympic Trials at Los Angeles in 1968.

Sunny Gaye (York) Pierce (1978-79)

Sunny Gaye (York) Pierce was a two-time first-team All-CSIC performer for the Gorillas (1978-79). Pierce led the Central States Intercollegiate Conference in scoring with a 17.0 points per game average in 1978. She was the second-leading scorer in the CSIC in 1979. Upon the conclusion of her playing career, Pierce held PSU's all-time career scoring average (17.1 ppg) mark.

Michael Anthony Potchad (1967-70)

Michael Potchad was a first-team NAIA All-America offensive lineman in 1970. Potchad was a second-team All-CIC performer as a freshman in 1967. He earned first-team All-CIC in 1968 and he was a two-time first-team All-RMAC selection (1969-70) as well. Potchad was a fourth-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 1971 NFL draft, but he chose not to pursue a professional career.
