GENERAL: Second-year player... a talented quarterback who redshirted in his initial season with the Gorillas after transferring from MIAA rival Southwest Baptist University... exited spring drills No. 2 on the Pitt State depth chart... a dual threat quarterback with good speed and a lively arm... capable of leading the Gorillas' offense when called upon.

In 2007: Redshirt season.

At SBU: Saw action in all 11 games as a freshman in 2006, including one start vs. MWSU (Oct. 28)... completed 88 of 168 passes (.524) for 1,152 yards and eight TDs with 12 INTs... also rushed the ball 40 times for 149 yards (3.7 ypc) and one TD... passed for a season-high 220 yards and two TDs vs. MWSU... had a season-best 59 rushing yards with a TD vs. Pitt State (Oct. 21).

In High School: A standout football and track & field athlete at Bishop Feehan High School... helped his football team to three state titles, earning Division 4 Player of the Year honors his senior season.

Personal: Born June 2, 1985... son of Bob and Tammy McCoy... has a 3.19 GPA as a management major.
