GENERAL: Fourth-year player... a talented athlete who enters his second year at fullback, after spending two seasons at linebacker... figures to contend for the starting role at fullback for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2007: Saw action in 10 games, including four starts, at fullback... carried the ball eight times for 23 yards and two TDs... scored TDs in consecutive games against Truman (Oct. 13) and SBU (Oct. 20).

In 2006: Saw action in all 12 games in a reserve role at linebacker and on special teams... recorded 13 tackles (three solo) and 1.0 TFL.

In 2005: Redshirt season.

In High School: A second-team Missouri Class 6A All-State selection at running back at Lee’s Summit High School as a senior in 2003... also first-team All-Conference and first-team All-Area for the Tigers at both running back and linebacker his senior year.

Personal: Born August 10, 1985... son of Jim and Kathi Hertzog... a member of the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll in 2007... has a 3.05 GPA as a management major.
