GENERAL: Second-year player... made an immediate impact as a true freshman... a promising nose guard who figures to see significant action for the Gorillas this fall.

In 2007: Saw action in all 11 games in a reserve role at nose guard for the Gorillas... recorded nine tackles (four solo) with 2.0 TFLs... registered three tackles and 0.5 TFL vs. MWSU (Sept. 22) and vs. Truman (Oct. 20).

In High School: A first-team Missouri Class 5A All-State selection as a defensive lineman as a senior at Joplin High School in 2006... a first-team All-Ozarks Conference selection as both an offensive and defensive lineman his senior year... a two-time first-team All-District and All-Conference performer (2005-06)... helped JHS to a 7-3 record and the Ozark Conference title in 2006.

Personal: Born December 30, 1988... son of David and Shannon Garwood... a construction management major.
