Inside Linebackers
Carl Roth begins his 16th season
on the Pittsburg State coaching staff and his fifth year working with
the Gorillas' inside linebackers after working with PSU's outside linebackers
his first 11 seasons.
A member of the American Football Coaches Association, Roth became a full-time assistant at PSU in 1995, after serving first as a student assistant (1992-93) and then as a graduate assistant (1994).
During his tenure at Pitt State, Roth has coached 10 All-MIAA players and three All-Americans.
Roth was a four-year letterman at the University of Missouri-Rolla from 1987-91. He was a two-year starter at inside linebacker for the Miners. Roth played under Gorilla head coach Chuck Broyles from 1987-88 when Broyles was the defensive coordinator at Missouri-Rolla.
Roth, a Ste. Genevieve, Mo., native, completed
his undergraduate degree in physical education at PSU in the spring of
1993. He earned his master's degree in physical education from PSU in
the spring of 1995.
He is single and lives in Pittsburg.
