Graduate Assistant
Neal Philpot enters his third year as a graduate assistant coach at Pittsburg State after enjoying a decorated playing career for the Gorillas.
Philpot assists Offensive Coordinator Tim Beck
and Assistant Coach Frank Naccarato with the Gorillas' quarterbacks and
wide receivers.
Philpot, a Norton, Kan., native, finished his career as a two-time NCAA Division II All-American quarterback for the Gorillas. A four-year starter under center, he finished tied for second among all NCAA-II QBs for career victories, compiling a 38-8 (.826) record.
Philpot, who became the first quarterback in NCAA history to rush and pass for 1,000 yards three times in a career, set the MIAA record for total offense with 10,168 yards. He shattered numerous PSU records, rushing for 4,337 yards and passing for 5,831 yards.
Philpot earned a bachelor's degree in biology
from PSU in May 2005. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in education
leadership at Pittsburg State.
