    Ryan Hellwig enters his first year as a graduate assistant coach and his third season on the PSU staff, after enjoying a highly-successful playing career for the Gorillas.
    Hellwig, who has assisted Larry Garman with PSU's tight ends the past two years, will assist Greg Warlop with the Gorillas outside linebackers this fall.
    Hellwig, a Chetopa, Kan., native, was a three-year starter at “"Y" tight end for the Gorillas (2002-04). He scored a pair of TDs as a senior in 2004, helping PSU reach the NCAA-II National Championship Game that year.
    Hellwig earned a bachelor's degree in general studies in May. He's currently pursuing a master's degree in physical education at Pittsburg State.
