| Lance Cullen
Defensive Secondary
Lance Cullen begins his sixth
season as a full-time member of the PSU coaching staff and his sixth year
working with Gorillas' secondary.
Cullen returned to the PSU campus in 2002 after
previously serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Gorillas from
1996-97. He worked with PSU's tight ends during his previous assignment.
During his tenure, he has coached nine All-MIAA players.
Cullen served as an assistant coach at Webb City (Mo.) High School in 2001, when he helped the Cardinals capture the Missouri Class 4A state title.
He also served as an assistant coach at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton, Texas (2000), W.T. White High School in Dallas (1999) and Checotah (Okla.) High School (1998).
The Dodge City, Kan., native came to PSU as a graduate assistant in 1996, after serving as an assistant coach at Dodge City High School from 1993-95.
He earned a bachelor's degree in social studies
from St. Mary of the Plains College in Dodge City in 1993.
Cullen was an All-Jayhawk Conference linebacker at Dodge City Community College as a sophomore in 1989.
He is married to the former Natalie Salmans of Dodge City. She is the Academics & Compliance Director for PSU Athletics. The couple have a daughter, Olivia Lear, who turns 4 on Sept. 10.
The Cullens reside in Pittsburg.
